Tomato Costoluto Fiorentino

Small heavily ridged red beefsteak heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.

Costoluto Fiorentino is a Beefsteak tomato with bright red skin and juicy flesh. An early/mid ripening, indeterminate, regular leafed, medium sized beefsteak tomato. High yielding plants with over 50 tomatoes in a good year. However, good years are few and far between, we struggle to grow many of the Italian varieties effectively, I assume that our climate is not suitable and the Brandywine varieties seem to do better, possibly more suited to the cooler climate of middle England.

The fruits are very meaty with few seeds, flattened and quite heavily ridged which can make them difficult to skin.

Old-fashioned tomato flavour and excellent for salads and sauces.
