Tomato Gardener’s Delight

Red Medium/Large cherry heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.

Description

Gardener’s Delight is a cherry tomato with a flavour that is one of the best balances of sweet/acid. An early/mid ripening, indeterminate, regular leafed tomato with high yields of bite sized tomatoes make this a very popular tomato, the quintessential British cherry tomato with an RHS Award of Garden Merit. It grows well both indoors and outdoors but like all outdoor tomatoes is likely to get blight despite its early cropping.

The web suggests that it was originally bred by Paul Tellhelm in 1950-1951 by Ernst Benary Samenzucht. It was originally named "Benary's Gartenfreude, Hochzucht".

Common and popular variety, one of the stalwarts that we grow most years.
