Tomato Henderson’s Wins All

Pink, beefsteak, heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.

Description

This Pink Beefsteak tomato grows on a vigorous indeterminate plant with regular leaves. Its quite late fruiting (like most Beefsteak) and the fruit are very similar to Pink Brandywine and Mortgage Lifter.

This Heritage tomato was introduced in 1924 by a Peter Henderson as an improvement on Ponderosa (which we haven’t grown) and was given the name as it "won all the taste tests". We grew it in 2014 and, whilst its taste was excellent, we didn’t get as many fruit (number or weight) as we got from Pink Brandywine which had a very similar appearance and taste (but different sorts of leaves).

Nonetheless its a good tomato and worthwhile growing.
