Tomato Tiny Tim

Red Cherry heritage tomato on compact indeterminate plants.

Description

Tiny Tim produces masses of small tomatoes with excellent flavour. The early ripening, compact indeterminate, regular-leafed, round, plant with a compact habit is ideal for growing in pots on the window ledge or on the patio.

Its compact habit means that it is best grown as a determinate plant, do not take out the sideshoots, grow it in a pot but use short canes to support the plant rather than letting it trail on the ground.

The web seems to suggest that this was developed by the University of New Hampshire, Durham in 1945 as a cross between Window Box and Red Currant. We’ve grown both Red Robin (which we liked a lot) and Tiny Tim but in different years so we haven’t done a direct comparison.
